You Hated The Film
and so did I: thought
it would be great till it all
went wrong: too late for popcorn,
sneaking in: time dragged
deeper and deeper
into its own furrow.
Good film, bad date
getting worse. It just
went on: characters
got nasty, nastier, and no
redemption as I saw you
draw further back to the life
you'd come to escape.
The film days from its end,
we could have left, let's
call this our turkey; but so
well-made: those shots
of the bay, the costumes,
dialogue to die for; tension
built up in stages: I'd write
the review, give it five stars
but I hate, hate it as you did
sunk in your miserable seat.
