Close to honeymoon,
On the other side
Encased eyes looking back
Acetate memories, opium nightmares
Young signatures, broken bed
A great blaze of colours that dazzle
passers-by
Illustrations swallow up my thesis
Comings and goings of desire and hate
Leave or stay
Never a drawn curtain on the continual moon
Quietly shining to the quiet moon
Dear gutter of Stowey
Where boys catch hatching trout in the street
Hands caressing
Life soft still and cuttable as Brie
Poultice on a scalded foot
Undemanding care
Skin remembering soft origin
Rain on these hills
Soaked as the Lakes and Northumberland
Whose hum, hum, thrums a soggy maw.
Walk out in the rain
Town shoes along a high-banked lane.
Yeah, town shoes, country boy
Klein kudos, O’Hara heaven,
juddering anarchy of Burroughs
Kerouac dreams of pantisocracy -
Northern beck cascading
Pearly imagination, reflection
Beckoning its dark pool.
