POET WRITES EXCELLENT NEW POEM
Well-known poet Guy Russell has
just written an astounding new
poem.
The work, called “New Town”, is in a
traditional form and uses periphrasis,
synecdochy and oxymoron among other poetic
devices to achieve its full effect.
“I was delighted,” said an excited
Guy after the event. “I was sitting
at my desk this evening and it just
came to me. I suppose it’s what you
call inspiration.”
Professor Edward Swinburne of Oxford
University agreed: “This is a
work of true genius, which no one
who cares about modern literature
- or modern life -. should be without,”
he enthused.
