Blood Tears
A charcoal dusk creeps over the woodland
As I lie on a violet bed
Fragrant feeling out of place
Waiting for my spirit to rise
It leaves my body cold and wet on the ground
I flow towards the deep ruby sun
Redder than a demon’s eye
It hypnotizes
Pulling me into its trap
Taking me from a slumber
to a deeper sleep
The storm of night begins
as the sun slowly hides behind a cloud
secretly waiting for the next dawn
I’m free once again
I soar higher
then float
Swollen clouds spill their sorrow
Rainfall splashes over my face
almost mocking me to awaken from this trance
But I feel nothing but the wind’s hands
clasping my inner self
Lightning flashes like talon sparks
with painfully bright scratches
across the face of night
tearing cruelly at angels’ faces
with nails of electric heat
As their blood falls
A sea of red descends
and colours the moon for a second
Crimson butterflies form from their warm droplets
As they flutter downwards onto sombre trees
they drag me down
back towards my earth bed
The violets replaced by thorns.
