Editorial
A letter this morning, from a seventeen year old: '...Reading your magazine has inspired me to write my own poem. I hope you like it.' Not a bad way to end/begin a millennium. And not a bad way for Brando's Hat to celebrate two years of publication. We are always eager to celebrate new talent as well as showcasing more established practitioners. To know that as well as bringing their work to a discerning readership, we are also encouraging the writing of poetry, especially among the young, is quite a feather in our Hat. Long may it be so.
With this issue, we introduce a new member to our editorial panel. Francesca Pridham who had previously been helping with marketing, took up the post when Emma-Jane Arkady had to resign. We welcome her warmly and introduce her, in our normal way, with a small selection of her work.
We have been accepting poems for advance publishing on the basis that they would appear in one or other of the subsequent two issues. Due to the number of submissions received, it will no longer be possible to indicate when work will actually appear.
We are extremely grateful to North West Arts Board for the grant we have been awarded to develop the magazine.
