To the scientist who showed me
complexity
a regular beat the sign of a diseased heart
but so alive the crazy heart awakened leap
how birds are aerodynamically unstable
attentive to air
each flutter an uncertain
communion, which may become a journey
how proteins fold close
touching as many surfaces as possible
in a warm interplay of hints and cues
our livelong process
how life may have evolved in the deep heave
of oceans unsounded by sunlight
in extremity
deliciousness squeezing into being
in the dark flow
and how you
my becoming world
(O my universe!)
come belling through my new flushed life
this astonished emptiness
come resounding through
and all is flow
