The café remains unchanged
at the corner of Brouwerstraat
and rue de Chapeliers. I am
drinking Chimay, and twisting
francs between my fingers
where I once wrote a series
of words. If I recalled my
thoughts from that time
I would not want to change
them. Maybe just rearrange
the punctuation to ensure that
the accent fell in all the right
places. And that’s what this is.
This café. It’s the right place.
