Obsessive compulsive disorder
Whenever I complained about the hum of his hoover
during the small hours and then again at breakfast time
and then again at midday and then again at three and
sometimes at five and on weekends at seven and then nine.
Or I complained about him washing his Ford at 3 am and then
again at 6 am and often again on Sundays at 10 am.
Whenever I complained about him cleaning the windows
or picking up moss out of the pigeon-toed paving stones
on Thame road until eleven thirty at night and then again
sometimes on a Saturday at first light, when he would
collect up leaves by hand from the gutters and the eaves.
His wife would simply say aren’t you aware my husband
suffers from a rare form of OCD.
