her glittering fish tail
in the long mirror propped
at a special angle filled
with energizing light
at all points of the water star
meditating her secret marriage
to her aquastric magician
- - - - surprised suddenly shamingly
in her private bliss by her
earthly husband (pungent with sour
soil & stagnant solids) disappears
in a flash of scales
& defiant lash of tail
into her watery realm
resurfacing from time
to time
as a herald of disaster
Melusina taking a special glee in being
the original Bad News Girl -
behind the dead
lines & headlines
her fringe a cascade
of astral light
