Consoled
Level 1, get hooked by flesh-eating zombies
wielding lip-licking chainsaws.
You on the trigger in a Saharan death camp
while I prowl through a copy of Grazia
for a pair of killer heels.
Level 2 and a half. You can't quit now
because you'll have to go right back
and kill the armour-plated mutant
all over again.
And you're exhausted as it is,
what with all the running around.
I goad you. 'Go on, pick it up!'
(I mean the grenade) — 'Get it, for god's sake!'
And I watch you fight like it's a film,
go dizzy while you zoom the perimeter
of entrapment for an exit.
But still, you go on.
I make some tea.
You get eaten by a crocodile.
