The Truth Economy
Advice for a Labour Government (An Antidote to Orwellian '84)
How the Truth Economy enhances:
1. Truth re environmental issues
2. Greater liberalism as people have more knowledge
3. Greater equality because people will have participation for economic well-being
4. Greater democracy for the nation, and also greater democratic rights for individuals
5. With Truth Economy people will reach fuller maturity part of a loyalty test
6. With Truth Economy, less fraud!
The Truth Economy makes for enlightenment and is a maturity test for both citizens and for governments. By enlightening citizenship re progress of spending, markets etc. The truth economy ensures that everyone takes part and as such are mature, honest and approaching to the happiness quotient (Jeremy Bentham's happiness quotient: the greatest huppiness of the greatest number of people).
All to be enlightened therefore! (Complementary to the idea of stakeholder.)
The Truth Economy, as well as tying in with a stakeholding culture, will also be enabled by a strong Freedom of Information Act (perhaps as a first step, part repeal of the Official Secrets Act 2911, with an enactment giving more freedoms of information whilst also maintaining national security (i.e. a hybrid statute).
Citizenship with the Truth Economy and culture shall give every citizen the responsibility of doing his or her part in strenthening the economic well-being whatever government is in power, as part of a loyalty test for the nation. By giving responsibility it also means more social cohesion within society, perhaps stronger institutions, whilst also maintaining the confidence of all citizens, because they are playing a part individually (liberalism enhanced therefore) and citizenship is seen to be of greater importance for each individual: perhaps also leading to increased voter turn-out at election time.
The nation therefore thrives given the new responsibilities of each individual for economic well-being. Individual liberty and equality are more likely to be guaranteed. End result: strong economy and wholehearted democracy.
