Bernard M. Jackson
Enigma
Mercurial as an autumn wind,
his gust stirred leaves
of parted shades
through boughs of balmed
remembrance;
and thoughts, like birds,
took instant flight
across stilled worlds of
harmony.
We stemmed the gale of his advance
with candour culled from passive smiles,
and traced old ways
through common ground
to blend of sunlit
moments...
but like some
migratory soul,
he rose upon a half-chance spell,
winging far from seasoned claims;
out beyond a dream once shared,
to heights of fading
nimbus.
