Sent to Coventry
In an Autumn dawn
before the swallows wake
before rotting flowers are placed
on loved ones' tombs
a tired whisper
woke from twenty nine nightmares -
twenty nine ashes without owners
waiting for the return of their innocent souls.
Silently embraced, those breaths emigrate -
Nor the trees pull their hair for them
nor the disused paths throw a cup of water behind them.
Leaves of the high trees
dance with the breath of hours.
Quietness
watches the coffins of days
but never speaks of the hugeness of suffering.
Even poems were not greater than sufferings.
Your poems tried to open the door to a new philosophy
then knelt
and the moon was lost in the sky.
But one door will open:
the sun, the seas, birds, all things will enter
and one way lead them to felicity.
Wherever you go
may your map and compass go with you.
