Canal (the mirror of simple annihiliated souls)
try
when trees are synchronised
rustling in wind
limbo-dancing
into the canal
and towerblocks are shrouded
in a green gauze
with red cranes erect all about them
hammers hammering their epiphanies
clanging across the city
and the weather as we know it is extinct
try
the canal conveyor-belts itself through locks and
traps
its energy
-supercharging the senses-
is an alchemical spray
children cross a bridge
the colour of air is mercury-silver
and great engines growl
loud as dinosaurs along the terrain
in the canal I am upside-down
and London Zoo aviary is upside-down
and I am upside-down in London Zoo aviary
in the cage, in the water
(nothing to do with
the maths of engineers)
labelled as a specimen
try
now
oh waterfowl
to love your incarceration
