Vestige Of A Shade
So like an urgent whisper in a room,
A sudden gust to swell a balmy breeze;
Or like some flush upon a flower’s bloom,
Or sunlight's gleam through summer-bowered trees,
There, timelessness becomes a hallowed glance,
Enchanting thoughts from Life’s swift passing years.
Within the stealth of autumn glow's advance
I welcome this rare rapture as it nears.
The rustle of her gown stirs fancy's spell
To part a veil of mystique with her charm.
Brief vestige of her shade I know so well,
Betokens settled presence of her calm,
As, from a favoured instance stilled in time
I'm spurred to inspiration for my rhyme.
