Christine Coleman works in Birmingham. She has been dabbling in poetry on and off all her life, but first ‘came out’ in August 96, when she plucked up the courage to attend Arvon at Lumb Bank. She joined a local poetry group (Cannon Poets) and with Don Barnard & two others formed a group called Late Shift, who have given performances at Ledbury Festival and other venues. Through the Friends of Arvon she found out about an MA in Writing course at Nottingham Trent, and received her MA Degree last July

Mary Michaels has lived in the English Midlands and the US, and returned twenty years ago to her native London. She was a founder of the feminist artists’ group Sister Seven, and of the New Studies Poets in Philadelphia, and has conducted Arvon Foundation and other writing workshops. She is the author of five pamphlets, of which the latest is Safe, safe (2000) from her own imprint, Sea Cow
Anne Ryland moved from London to Northumberland two years ago, and teaches adults at a local community centre. Is doing an MA in Writing Poetry at Newcastle University. Has had poems in Other Poetry, Brando’s Hat, Seam and The Frogmore Papers in the last six years
