making eyes, blowing lipstick kisses,
but when the skirts fall

My pod’s the model
for a million warheads.
Seeds from my arsenal
last a thousand years
waiting for the right
kind of disturbance.
Plough me a furrow
gash me a road —
make the most of me
‘cause next year all you’ll get
are goddam moon daisies
with the soft, spongy centres
and bad, bad breath.
