Exit Bleeding
The grasps of time slip through my fingers
It stains them purple,
Sat behind a wheel, rushing to death
Nothing is certain.
The sky is bright, cascading green and limelight,
A face with so much anguish,
Like I have never seen before.
Flesh is grey, the lake is red with yellow water,
Red is cold and uninviting, solitude embraced me,
Nothing is certain.
One chance, desperate, ebbing away, void and empty,
Faster to death, nothing is certain.
River of blue tail lights, flowing and weaving,
Exit bleeding.
Oncoming rush of light, arrives on leaving,
Faster to death, exit bleeding.
Justice is never done, riots flaring, burning, crying,
Girl left dying, radio friendly company.
Escalation, speeding, people sleeping,
Visibility leaving, deceiving, tragedy, souls leaving,
Nothing is certain.
Lifeless, colourful blocks, both sides teeming with life,
The river has risen, urban sprawl below.
Blue is warmth, hate is love,
Orange is purple, confusion
Exit bleeding, leaving, rain just falling
Slowing, stopping, sighing on arrival.
Stepping out and into this kaleidoscope,
I’m still not sure, nothing is certain!
