Notes on Contributors
James L Weil's Something Given, a "very selected poems", appeared in 1992 from Kelly-Winterton Press of New York. For many years he was editor/publisher of the magazine Elizabeth and the Elizabeth Press. This issue reunites him with three authors previously published by Elizabeth: Simon Perchik, John Perlman and John Levy. Simon Perchik's most recent publications are Redeeming the Wings (Dusty Dog, Zuni, New Mexico), The Gandolf Poems (White Pine Press, Fredonia, NY) and The Snowcat Poems (Linwood Publishers, Stone Mountain, Georgia - a paperback reissue of the 1984 hardback edition). His selected poems are available from The Scarecrow Press of Metuchen, NJ under the title Who Can Touch These Knots, and the Shearsman edition of Mr Lucky is still in print. Elizabeth published six volumes of his work over a fifteen year period. John Perlman, like Simon Perchik and Jim Weil a resident of New York State, also had six volumes published by Elizabeth between 1972 and1981. His most recent book is imperatives of address (Leave Books, Buffalo, NY). John Levy, one volume of whose work - Among the Consonants - appeared from Elizabeth in 1980, lives in Arizona where he recently completed his law studies. The text printed here is selected from a longer diary sequence which will be published shortly by Querencia Books of Tucson and El Paso. Spencer Selby, from San Francisco, is the editor of the SINK Press and the author of House of Before (Potes & Poets, 1991), Barricade (Paradigm Press, 1990) and Stigma (Score, 1990), among others. He has also been the coordinator of the Canessa Park Reading and Talk Series from 1987.
