One With You
I trusted You in the height of love
And endless longings,
I trusted You beyond the silence,
And the grave where hope lay still.
I trusted You before the night began,
And long before the day was born.
With my life, and with my all,
I do trust Thee,
Aye, even now.
For the riches of my life,
And the turns I missed by miles,
I endorse the boundless care,
Of my heart to Thee alone.
To mend, to kiss; to love, and to hold,
For no eternity's good enough,
If spent apart from You.
When my tongue speaks of your name,
Or when the rooster cries out foul,
Teach me the way to be,
The bride my Lord and King is worth.
For depths, for keeps, and honour too
Till all is come and gone,
And You and I are ONE again,
Trust will suffice,
Aye, the firmest bridge,
Forever true, will fail us not.
