Sparks of Belief
Transformation, like other acts of grace, is not reducible; cannot be sought, or bargained for. No signposts to the sacred, nor organised tours. Every moment is a stepping off into the unknown, throwing oneself off the cliff. There are no routes marked before and after; maps are reassurances at best. This meagre crop of words, these prayer flags. This spinning world; these stillpoints. Lights answering light, gone before you register. Out of the mist a white cry. Something slithering away like a grass snake in the bushes; the slender trickle of rain down a drainpipe; the promise of apples, budding secretly, coming to green.
