Two Ends
Driving north through Jutland,
freewheeling to the tip of a continent;
wondering why,
before the lengths of tarmac,
anyone would keep on going,
not thinking this or that brief resting place
was good enough.
Over Limfjorden, through endless miles
of grassy dune.
Were they searching for a crack
to get their shoulders into
then inhale, immovable?
Or was it a pushing to the boundaries,
as far; so far; no further
and waiting for the others,
drawn like us
to the brinks of existence.
