Soulmates
We smiled soul-searching smiles
and spoke heart-rending words;
A clash of beliefs, a crash of ideals;
Our marriage - one stormy love affair...
I got lost in my world
you got lost in yours;
You thought your thoughts
I dreamt my dreams;
But some strange chemistry
oozed through the air,
even when eyes met eyes
in flashes and voices rose
in whiplashes...
Until one autumn evening,
drenched in a rain of
falling gold, I rushed into
your arms, my whole world
in pieces...
You then held me in a ring
of filtered amber light and
I clung to your soul...
Thoughts flew back to then,
when on the banks of time,
you and I exchanged
amethyst trysts, fashioned
out of purest faerie-dust...
Now, we dream my dreams
Now, we think your thoughts;
Now, eyes meet eyes in whispers
and voices melt in glances...
Dearest heart, some day,
I would come back again,
for that autumn evening,
to be drenched in the rain
of gold: to be held in the
ring of filtered amber light...
