Welcome
"Be like a flower and turn your face to the sun." -Kahlil Gibran
Welcome to the May issue, the month ‘where all things are possible’.
Give thanks that all the hustings are nearly over, each half-remarkable question avoided with cliché and May 6th is nigh. Can’t wait for it to end.
Anyway, to more important things – time is running out for Crab Lines Off The Pier submissions! (p55). Our winter anthology sold out two print runs and we have just 20 copies left of the third. Nearly our first book to go to four-figure sales. Selection from all submissions will take place first days of June, so please ensure your work is in the mix. You’ll be in good company and widely read.
More new names in ‘The Box’ – still no-one has appeared more than once and we’re 4 months in. It shows the wide range of quality poetry in your magazine.
On our royalty book publishing side, we are delighted to have signed a contract with Central Books to handle all UK and non-UK distribution for us. They are long-established and selective, so we are really pleased with this, as you can imagine. Our 3 magazines remain firmly in-house, with myself and Dawn stuffing the envelopes (usually late in the evening) and causing delays in the Post Office. If you see us, don’t queue behind us! Enjoy this feast and as always. I await your voices and choices.
Love and light till next time, Ronnie G
