The footlights go on. A piano lights up at the edge of the waves. The noctilucas form a chain. We hear the slow rustling of the sand creatures seething and seeping . . .
A loaded boat arrives in the shadow where the glazed capes of the jelly-fish rise at an angle and come to the surface like the first dreams of the warm night . . .
Strange wayfarers loom up like undercurrents, almost on the spot, with a mysterious gentleness. Slow forms pull away from the ground and displace the air,like plants with wide palms. The phantoms of an hour of weakness march past on this shore where the music and the thought from the depths of time come to an end. In front of the villa, in the dark garden formerly so bright, a familiar footstep wakes the dead roses…
An old hope that refuses to stop striving towards the light . . .Memories, such as we would not have dared to drag from their retreats, hail us with penetrating voices.. They gesticulate wildly. They cry out, like those gentle white birds with spindly golden legs that fled the foam one day when we were walking along the beach. They utter long cries of remorse. They cry out the long salty smell burned down to the curve.
