In A Bar, Limmasol
Crocheted by Moma the tiny red dress,
made from elasticated silk, suddenly
stretches over her shoulder baring her
soul so willing, and bolder for those
who appreciate how to live, stretched
like a cobweb about her breasts.
The bar was full on that summer night.
Appealing for quiet her slow voice rising,
her lover hadn’t come, her face was white
her song melancholy, and yet tantalising.
Her body glowed in the golden light,
the music played to her haunting sighs,
her voice rose up to a pitch with the night;
the mood was there around her thighs.
