Goodbye Sundays ruined by the CD player

Farewell Indian shops wandered round
When newsagents were closed,

And the grimy Neptune cafe.
There’s an end to Sunday bike rides to Dedham (Geoff
And wife run the wholemeal restaurant there no more).
We hardly knew ye, mornings down the estuary
When Donovan was in the charts, poet of picturesque
Existences by seas and rivers (down there I maintain
We saw actual crabs, reeds and samphire)
Farewell ye days when Ronnie
Was the Scott Walker of our area
Who is now so heavily married and has MS.
A hello to the keyboard at County Hall
Monday to Friday meant farewell
Sunday mornings walking up Woodbridge
