They allus was a bugger.
Gettin’ ‘em on t’trolley’s bad
but draggin’ it any distance
ain’t no joke in ‘ot weather.
This one were solid walnut
wi’ brass candlesticks.
I knew we was in trouble
the minute I met the woman.
One o’ them prima donut types,
nails so long it beats me
how she ever played a scale.
Fambly hair loom apparently
though the semi were 100% Wimpy
wi’ kids glued to t’ play-station.
We ‘ad a buggy but trundlin’ the brute
across them pebbles were a killer.
Ninety in t’ shade it were
and me wi’ me blood pressure.
You’d have thought it were music
the way she flew off wi’ it. ‘ell to pay
when she didn’t show be nightfall.
