Cool is my glass
This wine reflects an early year
Of vintage growth
Tendrils reach for the sun
While roots sip the dreaming earth
A restless night
& wind-chimes paced the hours
Yet I remember an idea
Gathered earlier than dawn
When the sky glowed with distant suns
Drinking whisky
With Julia
In the afternoon
The roses spotted with decay
Have added dignity
Under the bridge
An arch of shadow
My reflection wavering
To the wind sound
In the reeds
