Not very literary this, but what I get when Purple Patch drops through my letter-box is 'instant-fizz'. Geoff knows how to pick great poems and then proceeds to drive me crackers with 'presentation'. I keep telling him about it - and he keeps telling me to 'clear off'...
The real fact is, that despite my twittering, after 25 years, Purple Patch has become an institution on the poetry scene, and, other than erecting a statue of Geoff for the relief of the canine population of West Brom., the best I can do and say is: it is a privilege and an honour for me to produce this edition of Purple Patch 100 on Geoff's behalf.
