The Time Machine
The body lay on the floor, he hadn’t meant to kill,
Then came footsteps from behind, he knew he must go,
As he stepped into the machine, he felt a cold chill,
And the last thing he heard was a voice crying NO!
He just wanted to steal the device, but the old man got in the way,
Now the body lay on the floor, he hadn’t meant to kill,
That machine could take him to any time, place or day,
But as he stepped into the machine, he felt a cold chill.
He thought he was alone, the whole thing wasn’t planned,
He just wanted to steal the device, but the old man got in the way,
Then a stranger had tried to stop him, and had shot him in the hand,
That machine could take him to any time, place or day.
He knew he must go back to the past and stop what he had done,
He thought he was alone, the whole thing wasn’t planned,
His hand was bloody but he had his own gun,
Because a stranger had tried to stop him, and had shot him in the hand.
He fired his gun at his past self, he would understand,
He would know he must go back to the past and stop what he had done,
But his wound made the shot go off target, and he shot his past self in the hand.
His hand was bloody, shot by his own gun.
