poem to the three laughing sages
O loved Ones! I cast a poem in your image & mine
steeped in sweet peat moss juice & this old yellow grass of
November
Ripples in the trough, trough after trough
another wave, another blow, another drench
lichen & moss in an ever-wet land. The pineal drops
where dreams slide
whose hectic current washes & swamps me, the "Swamp Angel".
Their paths are amazing! & their lightnesses
& terrors incarcerate me. "The Crazey Man awakes"*
the analeptic, giddy shock, deliquescent flow of woodgrain
& played music & sang & imbibed for a week
O holy Ones in the imperial purple dream!
*"The Crazey Man awakes", used of the
Springtide by Roger Yates.
