They were burning books in Albert Square.
Mo and Shah went in the rain to share
the common outrage of muslim men.
The crowd jeered as the books burned but when
the flaming pages floated in the air
they clapped. A Jewish man fixed his stare
at the burning books in Albert Square.
He recalled the brown shirt brown tie men
who were burning books
in the streets of Berlin. He was there-
a boy afraid of those angry fair
hair men. Now he was afraid again;
sick and ashamed of those holy men.
They were chanting,…“death to those who dare..”
They were burning books….
