A house in the Quantocks
Two centuries ago
William and Dorothy lived there.
Wandering the hills
under the starlit skies
with their friend Samuel
so much so
that the local people
thought they were
French spies.
Did they also wonder about
Dorothy and the two men
or did nobody care?
Now all is calm
the house the park the hills
peaceful
exuding an air of welcome
on fine summer evenings.
