A word,

he waves at me
like a six day trainer sweat sock,
sure of a scream.
Sometimes it’s slipped
into crevices of sentences
as sly as an insurance clause,
caught unawares,
in clumsiness,
I shy away
while it swivels
to meet my swooping screech,
Shut up! Shut up!
So he whispers in stereo,
sure of a scream,
v o u c h s a f e
me the secret
of your dictionary.
What comes after voucher?
May your leeks grow
scrawny and serrated
I voodoo at him.
