Temper Temperature
Standing there just staring at air
My mind gone blank and dear head drowned
Legs stiff as teeth, my breathing slow
I stretched my arms and waved hello.
It wasn't because I cared that much
Or expected one to wave right back
But to reassure those
Who almost fell once they'd seen me
While looking like they craved a mad dash
Ensuring them of their prestigious safety.
I cannot claim I was different before
For why would I wanna do that ?
What you see now, was always that.
Living my life, just like it was
And what the bless
Is wrong with that?
Oh, yes I know. I think I do.
I'm not supposed to be different
Not even from the walls of hell
Or gold in heaven?s streets of old
Where God is God and man is godly.
I?m meant to be like she or he
Not twins but then not this different.
How did I end up here?
Where colour of shoe heels is news on Sky
Mining of uranium same as bee-keeping
And famine in Iceland is overlooked?
How did the once-happy-and-safe-me
Offend the pens that bend to make law
Turning the older to begging poor
And the younger to poor NDEs?
Near Death Experiences
Tell me my friend, tell me I'm fine, even though I'm broke
Tell me it's right to shake from the cold
Human, that I want out of this state
But still working out which step to take first
While watching closely, my temper's temperature.
