Adieu
Adieu my dear beloved beauty.
Adieu until we meet again.
I promised to you and to me,
To bid farewell, the tears of useless passion.
I, but a petty among,
Limited, without freedom or independence,
I, but a shell in a still sounding ocean,
Of which my parts came to an end.
For once and good, I went to meet
My fate somewhere among the stars.
So bright at night, so strange each time,
Gradually moving, yet seemed to stop.
Each obedient, knowing no evil no good,
Unless it falls following its course.
So pure, so quiet, I sailed with them,
Night after night, leaving behind
All grief, and the world with nothing
To keep me alive, monotonously peaceful,
So like, so very like, day to day.
With no precious time to spend,
The morning comes, the night decays,
Under the baobab tree, all day in the chair,
Under the frenzy of the fourteen moon.
Hoping against hope, the evening light,
Struggling with the horror of all day break,
Waiting in desperation for the unknown.
Nothing to look for but sad shrine.
The years to come appeared as waste,
The years behind, vague memories
Of a past happiness busted in tears.
Desolated and sick of an old passion,
Things said or done long years ago,
Or things I did not say or do.
However, I write while still I may,
To bid farewell, to join the stars,
To lounge my soul into eternity,
And be among the skies above,
Stretching so high across...
