To Smile Or Not To Smile
She is out for her daily health
walk she is nicely dressed in a
pretty sweater & her best slacks
& a purple knitted toque if only
she didn’t have to wear her glasses
but without them she can’t see what
people look like her life is so
lonely she imagines that a nice
looking man the right age comes
along and she smiles at him and
he smiles back and he stops and
they get talking but of course
she could never do that she wasn’t
brought up that way it will just
have to happen at one of the sup-
pers at church but it never does.
