Nick Spokes
Reflections
When the glass breaks
the slate will wipe clean
away will go failure
maybe, and all
a Tabula Rasa.
No, rather
each shard reflects
a partially conscious
inadequacy
which rejects
any notion of change.
Then are we
for the dark at last?
There’s certainly
no light thrown back
from that dull shattered frame.
For God’s sake, is
the best to hope for
more of the same?
