in the Sea of Snakes and reappear
as that actress (you’d know the face)
rehearsing ‘The Death Wish in Women’: her new play.
It’s a game of catch
as catch can in which the near and dear
is always slightly risky and far away,
and the creature herself runs rings at such
speed she arrives as she leaves, sauntering up to where
her other self hangs fire in unbreathable air.
