Not getting around much lately, I felt I should be out and about.
Dianna Webb’s two small girls with huge balloons were surely off to some party! Phillip Murrell’s jazz club enticed, though the shiny tuba combo seemed pretty suspect?
Best of all maybe, Klaus-Dieter Wirth’s Grand Hotel (for high tea) and to accompany the solitary palm-court pianist.
Margery Newlove’s ‘snow fox-trotting by night’ too had great attraction.
But being a sentimental gent, my Irish sense of sad exile inclined me to go to the following haiku of Space & Time & Heart & Home:
forty years on
in a different continent
a smell from childhood
To Basem Farid then, all my sympathy and the Award.
