Les Amours Imaginaires
I will not enter a love triangle
because it’s not a healthy shape
and you end up running round in circles
with no way to escape.
To compete and fight for someone’s love
requires too much energy and stealth,
there’s only one person that I fight for
and that person is myself.
They say all’s fair in love and war
but I don’t have time for all that mess
and the only heartbeats I care about
are the ones beneath my chest.
So it looks like he’s all yours
because I really do not need him
I’ll be fine here on my own
with self-love and my freedom.
