She was Reds the whole of her was Reds
sex religion nationality
she raced for Reds she painted simple
suns and stars spelt words made curious
collages went along as flatly
as she could with eggs on spoons she lived
on bended knee for Reds by heart
it was the first thing she had ever
been and so when bunting blossomed
and flags hung her voice went up on high
she didn’t have to lift it and it
sang with all the other Reds for Reds
though meanwhile she was nowhere only
afterwards it came to her came clouding
through the water as she painted Reds
was nothing and the same for her she
bubbled up she sprang out now with
weeping she was liquid colourless
