Front Line in the Falklands (1)
On the 2nd of April, 1982, the Falkland Islands were invaded by Argentine Forces claiming sovereignty. Between this date and the 14th of June, 1982, a very bloody war was fought. Linda Kitson, a young lecturer at the Royal College of Art, was commissioned at short notice to be the British official war artist. She soon found herself in the unique position of being the first woman artist to record the actions and tragedies of front line troops.
