Stingprint run by ray denton, 3 collingwood court, folkestone (tel 0303 38735) offer a fine letterpress printing service to small press & little magazine publishers, the advantages of working with a printer who knows about poetry & poetry books are obvious. in addition stingprint's prices for letterpress work are far cheaper than those obtainable at a regular jobbing printer. the specialization is in small A5 40 page and under booklets. write or phone for a quote. Greater London Arts Association puts out an informative newsletter each month and also runs the london poetry secretariat, providing poets for readings and sometimes money to pay them as well. membership costs £2 a year and entitles you to regular copies of the newsletter, a free sub to artsmail, a mailing scheme which provides advance information on and booking facilities for the arts in london and invitations to all association meetings. for further information write to 27 southampton street, london wc2.
Dial-a-poem. the original scheme run by the welsh arts council is now ending after receiving just under 60,000 calls since its inauguration in february 1970. there is some hope that the idea may be taken up by one of the regional arts associations, hopefully in west wales. the london scheme run by the greater london arts assoc still proceeds. dial 01-836-2872.
