Agog (1) 9p. melvyn gibson. 41 blairston ave, bothwell, nr glasgow. a tiny new neat mimeo showing that even in Scotland a small small-mag can look much like all the others: connors/ grubb/ carr/ england/ oxley/ upton/ curbs/ sneyd/ chapman/ conkie/ nations/ etc.
Aquila publishing company, jim green, 18 atherstone close, shirley, solihull have another two booklets out in their well produced modern poets series, both at 15p each. stephen morris's born under leo contains a bunch of reading poems, those that work best out-loud and not so well on the page land morris is a good reading poet so its understandable that he should work in this area) and also a few of his visuals, simple mimetic pieces that remind me too much of adverts. bryan waiters between dawns is a stronger on-the-page poetry, free versed hiding a background of tradition.

Riverside Qtly (vol 5 no 2) 60c. leland sapiro. box 40, univ sta, regina, canada. a neat tight sf mag, almost a dreadful fanzine but its critical standard is too high. articles, reviews, short stories, news, letters, and a few poems.
Semantics of the Heart by waiter m. barzelay. shalom pubs, pob 26464, tel aviv, israel. poetry from a kind of jewish adrian henri - he has something but he doesnt quite know how to use it yet. a bit messy. next book should be better.
