About The Review

The Review was edited by Ian Hamilton between 1962 and 1972. A committee was formed which included John Fuller, Francis Hope, Martin Dodsworth, Colin Flack, Michael Fried and Gabriel Pearson. It published short fiction, poems, articles, reviews and interviews by writers and editors and poets drawn from the established poetry scene at the time. European poets such as Zbigniew Herbert and poetry in translation were a key feature and themed issues were used to highlight key movements like the  Black Mountain Poets. The final issue (Nos. 29-30 10th Anniversary Issue) published the commentaries from key editors, critic and poets on the state of Poetry.
