Someone’s smile has been missed,
it is worth making peace with the sun,
the light embraces all my dreams,

it is worth whispering the thirsty words
like the light raining through the shadows,

it is worth coming to you,
     coming to me,
divorcing the silence,
     and using the lips,

this might be the place to meet.

Philosophy books and drowsiness,
studying by the heat and falling asleep,
dark, rainy mornings and tilt-and-turns in bed,
the smell of your embrace and imagination calming,
and then dreaming of the sky,
of the light,
and heaven,
of times when the Prophet is a beautiful girl,
when children are named after their mothers,
and God is a white-scarfed lady

reading the dusty books in the library and daydreaming,
the lines mix,
the words become blurred,
and the journeys start . . .

. . . glasses are full of sweet wine,
Jesus has fallen in love with me,
I am too merry,
and I laugh and tell him:
you are terribly late!
I am the last wife of the Prophet;
the youngest,
most beautiful,
and the most loved wife of the Prophet . . .

. . . the words lighted up and the lines become clear,
behind the table, opposite to me,
he is snoring over Descartes’s Meditations,

Oh dear God!
why do I have to study?

I mix with the colours,
with the naughty game of the pencils,
and the softness of the curves

I mix with the rainbow,
with the shameless shine of sequins,
and the charms of long hair,
I mix with the charms

I mix with the dance of the colours,
with lipstick and eye-liner,
make up before the mirror,
the shimmering of the lead-dancer,
the sound of bagpipe,
and the crazy drums,
I mix with the sounds

Where do you think the colours take us?
the passion of redness,
the youth of greenness,
the intellectual blues,
the grayness of whitehood,
the lone depression of the black,
the yellow face of jealousy,
the disappointed purples,
the old-hearted grays,
the juiciness of orange,
and the mothering browns . . .

What will remain?
But without this crazy dance what would remain?
I mix with the dances.
