like a gobsmacked figurehead
on a land lubbered
man o' war,
she rides proud in the rain
arms fastened behind her
thrusting small tits forward,
legs knotted and concealed
in a mermaid scrap
of mucky green curtain.
Her blonde nylon hair
is tangled into rats tails
and elastoplasted punctures
keep her buoyant,
head up
on the radiator grille
of the municipal waste wagon,
but it’s that gaping
red rimmed mouth, forever open,
that is now vibrating
with crushing and pulverising,
and I wonder
if she's thinking
is this how it feels
to really grind your teeth?
