Garden
The ground is covered with weeds, tall as a person.
Hidden treasures will soon be discovered,
As we begin to dismantle this forgotten region.
Worn out tyres, rusty old cans, empty wine bottles,
Broken glass and rubble by the skip load.
Enough wood to keep the home fires burning for months.
Clothing to fill up any charity shop.
Several unidentifiable remains from the animal kingdom.
Broken toys, out of date newspapers, pieces of plastic,
Even a skeleton of a motorbike, and a kitchen sink.
To transform this piece of land into a garden of beauty
Will take many months of hard labour.
